Ardex 8+9 Rapid Waterproofing and Crack Isolation Compound.

Ardex 8+9 protects from topside water infiltration and is a two component cement-based membrane, best in its class, that is solvent free. It’s comprised of an acrylic-based liquid compound and a Portland and other hydraulic cement-based powder. It can be applied with a brush or roller to produce a highly flexible, water-proof coating. Also, it serves as an excellent bonding layer for ARDEX tile and stone mortars.

Ideal applications for swimming pools, commercial and residential bathrooms, and showers and kitchens prior to this installation of tile and stone. Can be used in place of a shower pan liner. This is rapid setting and you can tile in just 90 minutes after applying. You can flood test in just 4 hours, and this product provides crack isolation up to 1/8″. It also helps prevent efflorescence from the substrate.

Comes in 1 gallon of Ardex 8 with a 9 pound bag of Ardex 9. That is the correct mixing ratio (1 gallon to 9 pounds). For smaller ratios you can mix 1 part Ardex 8 to 1 part Ardex 9 by volume.
